I have an html fragment that looks like this:
<style>
.r {
display: flex;
}
.d-flex {
display: flex;
align-items: center;
}
</style>
<div class="r">
<input type="radio" disabled="disabled" value="1">
<div class="d-flex">
<span class="answernumber">1) </span>
<div class="answer"><p>One</p></div>
</div>
</div>
When I render this in a browser the radio button, the "1)" and the "One" are all aligned nicely. But when I render this html in a pdf the radio button is not aligned with the text. I have tried multiple alternative style definitions for the classes r, d-flex, answernumber and answer and also for the input[type="radio"] and every time it looks good in a browser, the result is no good in the pdf.
Interestingly, check boxes work just fine. Is there a way to get the html to render in the pdf aligned? Or is this something that needs to be fixed inside iText?
The html inside the div.answer may be much more complex and I have no control over it as it is delivered to me by an external system, so I am limited as to what I can do with the html. What I am in control over, is the style definitions and any configurations to be done to iText (perhaps some ConverterProperties).
How can I add md-icon elements next to inputs like in angular material 1 and this screenshot from google contacts:
Google contacts edit form
I know I can use mdPrefix but I like this style better.
Code example:
<md-input-container>
<md-icon mdPrefix>star</md-icon>
<input placeholder="Test" mdInput />
</md-input-container>
The icon inside the input field and I'd like it to be next to it:
Using some css tricks, I was able make something close to the the provided screenshot.
css to position icons:
/deep/ .mat-icon {
color: grey;
width: 24px;
margin: 20px 40px 0 0;
}
html:
<div style="display: flex">
<md-icon >email</md-icon>
<md-input-container >
<input mdInput placeholder="Email">
</md-input-container>
</div>
Code example
I am confused as to what to use for this. Is it possible to use SASS to calculate the padding for an element based on another's height?
for example:
<div class="element-1">
<h2>Some Title</h2>
</div>
<div class="element-2">
<h2>Element Contents</h2>
</div>
Styles for the elements (varying according to screen size):
.element-1{
height:200px;
#extend .pos-fixed;
width:$site-width;
}
.element-2{
width:$site-width;
padding-top:calc(element-height(.element-1)+20px);
}
Compass enables me to do a similar thing with image-height and image-width, but how can apply this with padding-top:element-height(.element-1)+20px;?
Is this possible?
I would like to use a kendo drop-down list, which has a fixed size since is constrained by other fields in the page, but when it shows the drop-down items of the list, the drop-down area should resize to the maximum length of the items. Sort of fixed width for the item displayed, but auto width for the drop down list.
Something like
|my choice | <-- fixed width displayed on the page
|next choice |
|previous choice | <-- dropdown area to select another item
|dummy |
Is this possible through CSS or drop-down list properties set through jQuery?
You can set the width of a DropDown List both using a CSS or using a method.
If the id of you DropDownList is my-dropdown then you should write:
Using CSS
#my-dropdown-list {
width: auto !important;
}
NOTE: We have appended -list to the original id. The "!important" is important since you want to overwrite original width definition.
Using a method
$("#my-dropdown").data("kendoDropDownList").list.width("auto");
In addition to use "auto" for getting the width automatically adjusted to the text, you can use a fixed width:
#my-dropdown-list {
width: 300px !important;
}
or:
$("#my-dropdown").data("kendoDropDownList").list.width(300);
The above answer didn't work for me. I have a the advantage of knowing that my dropdown is inside of a div.
<div class="myDivClass">
<select id="myDropDown"><option>First</option><option>Second></option></select>
<!--... other stuff in the div-->
<div>
I found that the span has the class k-dropdown so I added the CSS
.myDivClass span.k-dropdown {
width: 300px
}
What worked for me is to render an extra class on the base element:
<input .. class="ExtraLarge ..
Which produced:
<span style="" class="k-widget k-dropdown k-header ExtraLarge" ..
With this ExtraLarge class in place, this worked great in FireFox and Chrome:
span.k-dropdown.ExtraLarge
{
width:400px;
}
Using the following code to be the template of the kendo dropdownlist:
<div class="myDivClass">
<select id="myDropDown"><option>First</option><option>Second></option></select>
<!--... other stuff in the div-->
<div>
you will initiate the kendoDropDownList using jQuery as follows:
$("#myDropDown").kendoDropDownList().data("kendoDropDownList");
Now, to set this controller to take up the full width, what you have to do, is to set the width of the select element to 100%, or whatever is your desire.
e.g.:
<select id="myDropDown" style="width: 100%"><option>First</option><option>Second></option></select>
OR, is a css file:
#myDropDown { width: 100% }
If the id of you DropDownList is my-dropdown then you should write:
#my-dropdown-list {
width: auto !important;
-moz-min-width: 120px;
-ms-min-width: 120px;
-o-min-width: 120px;
-webkit-min-width: 120px;
min-width: 120px;
/*max-width: 210px;*/
}

In my project I have two datepicker both are validate with validation message but message is overlapping on datetimepcker how to show message in next line.
My code:
http://jsbin.com/ufimom/116/edit
Define the following CSS style:
span.k-tooltip
{
position: absolute;
top: 24px;
left: -1px;
}
See it running here: http://jsbin.com/ufimom/132/edit
Ideally Kendo Validator places its tooltips besides the validated input. However, if the input is later enhanced to a ComboBox, AutoComplete or other Kendo Widget, placing the tooltip beside the input may cover important information or break the widget rendering. In this case, you can specify exactly where you want the tooltip to be placed by adding a span with data-for attribute set to the validated input name and a class .k-invalid-msg.
<div id="myform">
<input type="text" id="name" name="name" required>
<span class="k-invalid-msg" data-for="name"></span>
</div>
