What is the most performant and secure method to call an on-premise API (integrated to on-premise systems not related to CRM) from a Dynamics 365 plugin in Azure?
Why do you want to user Dynamics API when you are already in Plugin for Azure.
Why not user native SDK for Dynamics on-prem .net4.6.2
Connect to Dynamics in Plugin using connection tool and use it.
Here is an example to do so, once connected you can perform CURD operation against dynamics.

If you only use Outlook to connect to Exchange Online then you don’t
need to worry, as long as you are using Office 2019 or Office 2019 Pro
Plus you’ll be fine come October 2020.

I am using Outlook version 2101 from Microsoft 365. I am not using custom API's, but I still see Outlook using basic authentication. For example, I pulled four log entries that occurred with using Outlook. Log details:
Application: Office 365 Exchange Online
Client App[1]: Offline Address Book
Client App[2]: MAPI Over HTTP
Client App[3]: Autodiscover
Client App[4]: Exchange Web Services
All 4 client applications fail to support modern authentication, which will fail when basic authentication ends. What do the users of Outlook at my company need to do to suspend using basic authentication? I have been attempting to enforce MFA but cannot get past Outlook continuously prompting users for their login credentials.
Solution:
Check org setting for modern authentication. This must be turned on before MFA will work properly. You can also enable security defaults in the Azure portal, but this approach does not allow you to selectively enroll users into MFA.
Open Microsoft 365 admin center
Show All
Settings
Org Settings
Modern authentication
Turn on modern authentication for Outlook 2013 for Windows and later
This setting allows for multiple exceptions, which will support your organization to continue to use basic authentication while you transition to modern authentication.
With this setting in place, you can selectively enforce Office 365 MFA on users. Each user will have to rebuild their locally installed Outlook profile before being able to use Outlook.
I am working on MS Dynamics and using CRM SDK to access the entities of dynamics. Code is running fine when I enter the credentials of Dynamics CRM online. I am stuck in a case in which other organization has desktop version of Dynamics CRM ie. 3.0 and they have let me to access their CRM via VPN because they have installed Dynamics CRM on their local network. I want to access the data as I need to import the data in other database as per requirement. but code is not authenticating the credentials . May be something is going wrong when there creates a discovery URL or something else.
How can I resolve it ?
While trying to install MS CRM on one of the VM, we are getting the error "Unable to browse for active directory objects" while "Select the Organization Unit" step. We discussed this with the client to give relevant permissions for Active Directory but client doesn't want to install CRM tied up with AD. Is there an option to install MS CRM with separate users rather than connecting with AD ?
After detailed RnD and discussion with consultants, following are the options we have:
Option 1:
Make a new domain in the AD
Configure a new root OU
Create a user having domain and AD admin rights
Option 2:
Create a network admin user for both instances (db and app)
Complete installation with an admin person at client who can use the
admin user for CRM installation
The best case would be to get the Domain admin user but it's not that easy to get.
Unfortunately you would not be able to install CRM without using AD because of Microsoft's requirements to installation of CRM.
"Microsoft CRM could not log you on to the system. Make sure your user record is enabled and that you have been assigned at least one security role. For more information, contact your system administrator."
When I RDP into the server and try Microsoft CRM Workflow Manager/Monitor with http or https connectivity, it doesn't work. "The specified Microsoft CRM server is not responding. This might happen if it is currently unavaliable, it is not a Microsoft CRM server, or you are not a valid user. Contact your sys-admin."
This is a Microsoft CRM v3.0 / Microsoft SQL server 2005 box, Active directory is on a seperate box..
When I right click Microsoft CRM Worlkflow Service, properties, log on: it shows "crmtestuser" and a password. I did not RDP or try logging in as that crmtestuser, but I am Admin... Could this be a clue?
What can I try?
Does the user that you're logging onto the machine have an account in CRM? If so, does that account have any security roles assigned to it?
Also, in CRM 3.0, there are special permissions given to the user that installed CRM. If you can't give permissions to the a user because you can access CRM, try using the same user that installed CRM, and with that user logged in, give Administrator permissions to other users.
