I was importing existing organization in CRM 2013 and my server restarted due to updates.
When I logged in back to CRM server and open deployment manager, I see this organization but status is Pending.
I am not able to delete this organization as well.
What can be done to fix this?
When I clicked on org which was in pending status. A pop up snap in loaded for sometime, when it disappeared, I see delete option on the right panel. Thanks.
This has never happened to me but I would delete the organization and recreate it.
If you are adventurous, you can always look into the database in mscrm_config.dbo.organization to change the status yourself. This is the table behind the deployment manager.
In any case, it's probably a non managed case by Microsoft.

I have been using TFS in my visual studio 2013 for some time now but now I have a problem.
When it was initially setup I logged into TFS from VS using the domain\Administrator.
But company policy has changed and now the password is changed and I dont know it anymore.
But my own domain user has been granted administrator rights so I think ok no problem next time I start VS and TFS asks me to login I provide my own account.
This did not work I got tons of errors so I had to go to Control Panel and remove this credential from credential manager.
So I started VS again and let someone type in the pass for Administrator again, and click on remember.
That seemed to work, I can do a compare of files and it is correct.
I am also able to checkout files for editing.
But when I want to check in than it displays an error for a split second and it shuts down my project in VS.
After numerous tries I was able to capture a screenshot of the error (it only displayed for a split second).
This is the error :
I have no clue what this thing is talking about and I am hoping someone here can push me into the right way to find a solution for this.
Where can I find this workspace and how can I give it permissions ?
I am using visual studio 13 on local computer, logged in to domain and my user account has administrator rights.
EDIT:
I found a screen in VS to edit the workspace. The permissions are currently on Private Workspace.
So set it to public and now I also cannot do Compare and Checkout anymore.
Setting it back to private does not helps I keep getting this error now.
Any suggestions ?
Edit:
There seem to be 2 workspaces with the same name but I can only see on in manage workspaces. Maybe if I can get rid of one somehow.
In this screen I can see 2 workspaces :
How can I get rid of the second ?
EDIT:
IT seems that VS keeps searching for the wrong workspace.
See this screenshot :
I configured a new workspace PC_GUIDO_2 but if I do a compare it keeps searching for workspace PC_GUIDO even if the workspace combobox says PC_GUIDO_2.
How can I force it to stop searching for that workspace ?
Please try following below steps to fix the issue:
Make sure your account has the check in permission for the project.
(Administer Server > Version Control > Set the permissions)
Close VS
Delete the VS client caches
Start VS as administrator (Right click and run as administrator) and DO NOT LOGIN WITH VISUAL STUDIO
In team explorer connect TFS with your account
Manage Workspace to delete current workspace "PC_GUIDO"
Create a new workspace and map sources to new local folder
Then check the issue again.
When trying to pull down an exe file from TFS, it breaks with the not supported error below, then it prompts for login credentials 4 times, and prompts with the unauthorized error below. After that, I can no longer access anything in TFS until I restart visual studio.
No sort of server setting that needs to be updated on TFS to allow exes.
According to the error TF30063, this may caused by your authentication account of tfs.
Try below steps:
Clicking on the "Connect to Team Projects button" (The plug next to
the home button in the Team Explorer tab)
Right click the project you are getting this issue on.
Click Connect.

If you can pull down other files from another project without any error. Please also double check the permissions. Make sure you have enough permissions. More details you can check this blog: http://nkdagility.com/tfs-2012-issue-tf30063-you-are-not-authorized-to-access-and-cant-trace-permissions/
TFS automatically updates my source control files without notify me what exactly has been updated. I want the compare tool automatically pops up and shows the changes from other people, even the change is not conflicting with mine.
How do I do this?
To turn on notification for any incoming changes in TFS, the simplest way you can use is Check in alert You can receive email notifications when pending changes are checked in. You need to follow below steps:
Configure an SMTP sever to TFS ( If your team already has ,doesn’t need)
Open alerts management, enter your Email Address.
Select New Alert Template, choose the alert types (For you , select Checkin any checking occurs in this team project)
More detail from MSDN: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms181334.aspx
If you get conflicts when you are checking in,you can use the diff window to resolve these conflicts first.
Certainly, you can also meet your customization requirement. But , there is not an easy way. You need to:
First ,you need to create a subscriber to license to the CheckIn event.
Then use TFS API to call the diff window and get checked in files and changes associated with that changeset. Then show changes between local workspace and server version on the diff window .
I am using VS2012 with TFS on a server workspace.
When someone checks something out a person icon is shown next to the file so you know it is currently locked by someone else, however when they check it back in the icon changes back to a lock icon without any indication that the files has been updated.
Is there a setting i'm missing that will show that you don't have the latest file maybe an icon next to the file in the solution explorer?
The only way i see how to do it is to view history on each file or go to the source control explorer and run a compare on every files, both of these options are not very efficient as I would not know when to perform this so i would have to do it on every check out.
Thanks in advance.
No, you did not miss any particular detail. After the checkin, the icon returns to a lock, and there are no notifications by default.
I believe that there is nothing that can be done about the padlock icon, but you can set up alerts (e-mail) to be triggered when check-ins are made.
Take a look here and here (alerts for specific folders) to understand how to configure e-mail alerts using TFS Event Service.
You can also bind notifications to workitems.
If your TFS is configured to use gated-checking to perform a build on a "build server" before each check-in, you can subscribe to the Team Foundation Build Notification to receive notifications of new builds that were queued/processed on the server.
Hope it helps.
Yesterday I created few alerts for changes in specific folders in TFS (in VS 2010, Source Control Explorer: File->Source Control...->Alert on change). Now I see that I'm getting much more traffic than I expected so I wanted to remove some of the alerts. However I didn't find how to do that... I also didn't find how to see all the alerts I created.
I searched the web for an answer, but didn't find anything that seemed relevant.
If you right-click the server/collection name in Team Explorer, you can choose 'Alerts Explorer'. From within Alerts Explorer you can add/edit/delete alerts that you have previously created.
