i'm new in crystal report. I want to make a crystal report in ASP.NET Web Application (MVC) but when i want to add ADO.NET entity data model, i can't find the connection for MariaDB, all the connection is for MySQL. I can't find my database if i choose MySQL connector. Anyone know how to add connector for MariaDB ? Please Help thanks
data source connection options
My experience is not with using Crystal through .Net. However, you could try the MariaDB connector.
In the desktop/server version of Crystal Reports 2016, I found the MySQL odbc connector did not work for MariaDB. I used an ODBC connector from DevArt.

Is there a way to connect Crystal Reports with oracle oci ATP
I have been trying somethings but they aren't correct in any way.
Try reviewing this document - https://www.oracle.com/a/ocom/docs/database/adw-connection-instructions-sap-bo.pdf
which explains how to setup BO server which is used by both BusinessObject clients and Crystal Reports to connect to ADW/ATP. Section 5 in the presentation/PDF covers using Crystal Reports.
Hope this helps.
In Talend 5x, I was able to use the Generic ODBC connection to connect to an ODBC source (QuickBooks QODBC). I was able to read and extract data fine from QuickBooks.
I see that Talend 6 doesn't have that ability to connect to Generic ODBC any longer. Can someone suggest an example, workaround or alternative to be able to connect to a Windows ODBC source? I see the JDBC connection - is there an example somewhere I can see if it will do the same thing?
Thanks in advance,
HL
odbc support was removed in Talend 6.0
Presumably, you could rollback to Talend 5.x and Java 1.7. Or, look in the Talend Exchange 3rd-party components for an odbc component.
https://www.talendforge.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=46670
In Talend 6x you can use tJDBCConnection and the other components that start with tJDBC to make a connection with ODBC. It's a built in Java driver for ODBC.
I have a server with an Oracle Database. Using Navicat I can connect to the Database and see the database tables, run queries etc.
I am trying to add ODBC support for Oracle to be used with Crystal Reports.
What I have done so far:
I struggled to install instant client and get it working as shown in some guides. As suggested I downloaded ODAC which bundled on the Oracle ODBC Driver and Instant Client etc.
After installing I had Oracle installed in C:\app\Administrator\product\12.1.0\client_1
I added two Environmental Variable:
%ORACLE_HOME% to go to C:\app\Administrator\product\12.1.0\client_1
%TNS_ADMIN% - to go to C:\app\Administrator\product\12.1.0\client_1\Network\Admin
Once added, I then went to control panel->Administrative Tools->ODBC.
I clicked system DSN and added the connection. The connection was successful.
However, when selecting the ODBC connection via Crystal Reports, the Database is showing the database functions (I assume stored functions as they appear in the functions section for the DB in Navicat). I cannot however, see the actual database tables.
Has anyone else experienced this issue and if so does anyone know how to resolve this. Many thanks for your time
I'm developing an ASP.NET WebForms application with Entity Framework Database-First connected with SQL Server, and I want to connect the same Entity Data Model with Oracle Database.
My concerns are:
How to install Oracle Database Engine on my dev machine to test?
How to connect the data model with Oracle instead of SQL Server?
How to generate the same schema into Oracle?
Are there drivers, tools, or apps I need to install?
I am doing exactly the same as you
i.e. Converting a ASP.NET MVC application on SQL server to Oracle.
Since your application is already running, what you can do, is
generate create scripts from your SQL Server database,
create the same tables in Oracle.
Install ODP.NET from
here.
This will allow you to connect to Oracle from a .NET application.
Now create a new edmx file from the tables in Oracle and if you do
everything properly, your application should be running.
Note: ODP.NET provider is only visible if you have a VS license. It is not visible on the free version.
I have installed Oracle 10g database and Oracle 10g developer suite.
I am beginner to use Oracle BI publisher for making reports.
Today i have installed Oracle BI publisher desktop for making reports in ms-word 2007.
when i try to log on in BI Publisher option in ms-word. It ask for username, password & report server.
Should i need to installed the BI Publisher Server to fill up the report server details?
please advice.
Thanks.
Yes, you need to connect to a BI Publisher Server instance to create new reports unless you have a local XML file of sample data from the Server-side Data Model.
With the Template Builder Install you should have a good set of samples.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Oracle\BI Publisher\BI Publisher Desktop\Template Builder for Word\samples\RTF templates\Balance Letter
This Tutorial from the Oracle Technology Network will move you along nicely working with the sample files noted above.
Creating Report (RTF) Templates with MS Word (This tutorial shows how to work "off-line" with a Sample Data XML file)
http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/fmw/bi/bip/tb4word/tbwordbip.htm
For real work you will need access to a fully installed BI EE environment then you can reach the BI Publisher component (XMLPSERVER)
Username: weblogic
Password: ((PASSWORD))
Report Server: http://NAME:PORT/xmlpserver
For a simple install of BI the URL could be:
http://192.168.56.101:7001/xmlpserver
Without a corresponding server you cannot pull in the data elements defined against the source.
