Why does azure storage explorer keep crashing? - azure-blob-storage

My problem is: every time i open Azure Storage Explorer, 10 seconds goes by and then the it crashes(closes). No error code, no nothing, just closes and that is it?
Does anyone know what is happening?
Regards.

As a quick check please follow the steps below,
Try to install the latest version of Azure Storage Explorer,
2.Also, do close all other apps running in your system that consume excess CPU and try it.

When i start the program with flag --debug from PowerShell this seems to go away.

DEP0001 : Unexpected Error: -1988945906 while deploying Windows UWP app to phone

Exact error:
Severity Code Description Project File Line Suppression State
Error DEP0001 : Unexpected Error: -1988945906 TestApp
What does it mean? It seems it isn't problem with application, it works OK on PC.
Version of OS: 1511, Windows 10 for phones 10.0.10586.164
I've experienced the same problem after updating Visual Studio community to Update 2. Typing in CMD (under admin rights) the following command solved my issue:
net start IpOverUsbSvc
Thanks to Agrgg for a good tip ;)
This kind of error happens very randomly and usually it means there was an issue during the deployment of the app. Things to check:
Developer mode is correctly enabled on phone
Uninstall the app from phone, rebuild solution and then try debug again
Check that the architecture for all projects is set accordingly (ARM for debugging on real device)
Sometimes the VS debugger hangs up, so closing VS and kill from Task Manager all VS processes that are eventually running and restart VS may also help.
I had the same error with deploying onto Windows Phone 8.1 device. In my case the problem was in Windows Phone IP over USB Transport (IpOverUsbSvc) service, which wasn't running. The deployment error disappeared after I'd started the service manually.
I had the same problem.
"net start IpOverUsbSvc" didn't worked for me (throws Access is denied Exception).
I have followed following steps to fix.
Start Run (Windows+R), Type: services.msc
Start/Restart Windows phone IP over USB Transport.
For the RPi, I have RPi3 with WIOT (build 14376) this error happens after failed deployment. Just restart VS and it'll deploy ok.
After trying some of the answers already provided and nothing worked, I fixed the error by simply restarting the phone.
After that the error was gone for me.
I had the same issue, and found that in my case it was occurring while the phone was downloading system updates in the background.
App updates/installations from the app Store were also prevented from downloading/installing.
After the update had finished, all was back to working again.
As Windows Phone 10 doesn't seem to make it obvious that it's downloading updates, maybe worth checking this out if you hit this problem.
I had the same error, solution is here: https://msdn.microsoft.com/ru-ru/library/windows/apps/jj863509(v=vs.105).aspx
Look at Checking BIOS settings required by Hyper-V for Data Execution Prevention. You must select "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those i select" and in my case application deploys successfully.
For me, it was as simple as unlocking the phone so that the computer would have access to it.
I had this issue as well. None of the answers helped me. IpOverUsbSvc was up and runing, phone reset, system reboot, nothing...
The issue was fixed after a Visual Studio "repair": control panel -> Programs and features -> select VS2015 -> Repair
I got a similar error.
The reason the error occurred for me was because I forgot to add the new splash images in assets after deleting the old ones.
The solution was to add the images. To get the correct image names and sizes, I used this extension for visual studio.
For Windows 10 (desktop) users
I faced this problem after I uninstalled Windows 10 SDK. It deleted the IpOverUsbSvc service from the system.
Solution
Download the Windows 10 SDK .iso installer
Inside it there is Installers folder.
Find Windows IP Over USB-x86_en-us.msi. Install it. (Don't worry if there is no setup window, it installs fast and silently).
I didn't even have to reboot VS2015, it just worked.
Check if the IpOverUsbSvc service is running
Open a Powershell prompt and type Get-Service -Name *USB*
Or go to the Services window. There you should see the IpOverUsbSvc running.
So, I think I get the trick. After plugged in your Windows Mobile device, Windows App Deploy can see W10M device, but once your device goes to lock screen, WPD can not detect it anymore.
You should to plug out and plugin again, with screen unlocked, to make it detectable. (I'm not a really English speaker).

How to debug Azure Web App memory leaks?

There is the excellent Start Profiling button in the SCM portal that works perfect for CPU.
Then there are some sources that refer to a Download GC Dump button:
https://stackoverflow.com/a/27987593/647845
But that doesn't seem to be available anymore.
Then there is the Download memory dump button.
But for now I can't figure out how/if I can see the Type / Refcount / Size stastistics that I'm used too.
What is the recommended way to look for memory leaks in a C# Azure Web App?
Unfortunately the kudu support page has been deprecated. You can now find it under Diagnose and solve problems:
Once you've downloaded the dump files, open them in Visual Studio and click "Collect a memory dump" like the accepted answer from Grandhali suggested.
Try using Kudu console.
Go to https://[sitename].scm.azurewebsites.net/support
Click Analyze -> Dignostics -> Settings. Make sure Memory dumps is checked
And then Click Dignose Now.
This will work only in Basic plan and above (Not available for free plan)
After some time you will get the dump
Open the downloaded file with Visual studio and select "Debug managed memory".
You can then see the details.
I see this thread is pretty old, but since I had the same problem and the azure portal changes a lot during the time I want to post a little update here.
This microsoft dev blog gives a fast overview about the topic: https://devblogs.microsoft.com/premier-developer/collect-and-automate-diagnostic-actions-with-azure-app-services/
I managed to do the memory leak analysis by navigating to my App Service in Azure portal, selecting Diagnose and solve problems and afterwards the Diagnostic Tools tile. Now you should see a Collect Memory Dump tile where you can create your memory dump by configuring a blob storage to save it to.
Afterwards I downloaded the dumps and used Visual Studio to analyze the issues.
You can download a memory dump using Kudu Console and use DebugDiag to profile it, you can have more than one memory dump, one before the leak happens, one during it and one after, later you can compare and see which objects are growing in size and not getting disposed
Remote Profiling the Azure Web App from Visual Studio is probably the best option.

Azure VM suddenly unavailable

I've had an Azure VM running fine for years but all of a sudden I can't access it anymore. Not through RDP nor through http.
Nothing changed on my side and Microsoft only gives phone support for 230€/month. What to do?
Maybe it has corrupted? The only two things I can think of are: try connecting over Powershell to see if it will respond; You could pull it down from storage and launch the console locally to see what is going on? Azure as you may know doesn't offer a console access. The only other option is to rebuild it assuming you have backups etc.
Ok, finally put the money down and got it up again. The advice on the phone was to upgrade from A2 to A3 processor/memory specs. This would force the VM to go to another machine, ruling out problems with the hardware / NIC. This worked but was quite expensive. They will get back to me next week with the exact problem report.

CacheInstaller.exe has stopped working

I am having below mentioned issue when I am running Asp.Net MVC 2 project on windows Azure emulator (dev environment)
I have installed Windows Azure SDK for .NET - October 2012 version and I am using cache feature on my system.
With above error Below one is also comming.
How to get rid of this ?
Maybe I have an stupid solution, but that works with me.
When I begin to recieve the message "CacheInstaller.exe has stopped working", I do the following:
1) Stop the execution.
2) Go to the Role I'm using in the Azure project and open the corresponding Properties page.
3) Go to the "Caching" section and there I uncheck the "Enable Caching" checkbox. After that I checked again.
4) Save*, Run de application and never the warning appear again.
Is weird because nothing should change if you uncheck and check it again an option without save in the middle, but in this case when you do that the file changes (I can see it in the red icon that said something change there, :P)
I hope this helps. Cheers.
Do you have any error messages in the event log that may give more hint.
It could be an issue with missing dlls, do you have the windows server appFabric installed as well on this machine, which may be leading to a conflict with the dlls?
A procmon log might help you see what file paths its looking for.

I banged my head against the wall on this one as well. I finally figured out the problem after digging deep into the crash-dump logs located within: C:\Users\{YOU}\AppData\Local\dftmp\Resources\{GUID}\directory\DiagnosticStore\AzureCaching\
AzureCaching does not allow UNC paths.
As my primary .net dev is from a vm, my documents/projects drive is mapped to my native drive located at: \\psf\Home\Documents\... Once I moved the project to the vm c:/ drive, CacheInstaller worked as intended.
Might as well post my experience as I was unable to locate anything on this specific problem.
I found today that if my system time was more than about 10 minutes wrong then CacheInstaller.exe bailed out on starting the emulator.
That includes the combination of system time and timezone being wrong, presumably as it results in an inability to calculate the correct UTC time at which Azure operates. Fixing the system clock resolved the issue in my case.
