I am using spring boot resources static-locations to specify a directory as a web access directory
resources:
static-locations: file:./opt
As the above configuration, all files in the opt directory can be accessed through the web, but if I want to exclude a subdirectory of opt so that it cannot be accessed through the web, how should I configure it?
Does the configuration allow wildcard access?
resources:
static-locations: file:./opt/**/down
I tested the wildcards above, but it doesn't work, but I do have this requirement, is there any way? Thanks in advance

I am using log4j2 in my spring boot application. This works in all respects re: excluding slf4j, including log4j2, etc.
But when the application deploys I need to customize the file for each target host. I have created an ansible role that does this. Ultimately I end up with a log4j2.xml file deployed in another directory e.g. /prod/produsrX/data/log4j2.xml.
I am using the spring-boot-maven-plugin "repackage" goal to generate an executable jar file. It doesn't seem like that should matter but it is a data point in the problem.
This was supposed to be the easiest part of the project. Always before I have just been able to set -Dlog4j.configurationFile - advice which is echoed on about 3,000 web pages and DOES NOT WORK in Spring Boot 2.1.3.
The most useful info I've found is this question. It talks about using -Dlogging.config because logging must be initialized before other properties are read. Unfortunately that didn't help either.
I did find one example that suggested specifying the above directory in a -classpath parameter to java. But that didn't help either.
Does anyone know how to get a spring boot application to read the log4j2.xml file?
The property actually has to be put into the application context (e.g. application.yml). Using a -D property does not work!

How to specify a spring boot application to access only a specific .properties file among other files in my Spring Cloud Config Server.
My Spring Cloud Config has the following files:
application.properties,order-dev.properties,inventory-dev.properties,
all my db and messaging properties are in order-dev and inventory-dev files.
Now I wish to move those properties to orderdb-dev, inventorydb-dev, ordermsg-dev and inventorymsg-dev files.
How do I configure my order and inventory service to pick the property from orderdb-dev, inventorydb-dev, ordermsg-dev and inventorymsg-dev files ? I have been going around to find the property for the same. Read through the official documentation and felt lost. Any help would be appreciated.
Add a bootstrap.yml file under resources folder. Then add the below properties.

name: order
cloud:
config:
name: ${spring.application.name}, orderdb, ordermsg
profile: dev
This way, it will first load the properties from order-dev.properties file. Then orderdb-dev.properties and then ordermsg-dev.properties.
Does anybody knows if we can store the properties file under different folders on github and then spring-boot config server can read those files?
for example if my repository for properties file is:

Can i have as many folder as i want under config-files repository and then these folders will have properties files under it? Can it be done?
I would suggest to take a look at Spring Could Config module. Spring ecosystem has your use case covered and it's better to follow proven footsteps rather than creating your custom solution.
You can create various directories in Github and provide bootstrap.properties file in your project. A sample bootstrap file is shown below

spring.application.name=<your folder name in github>
spring.cloud.config.label=<github project branch name>

My company uses Spring to provide RESTful service, But I can't find the log files as I usually do(from Tomcat/logs).All I can find is a jar file when Tomcat is built-in. So how can I find the log files?

I currently have a number of deployable applications that work in a distributed fashion to solve a business problem. We are currently using a number of property configuration files to provide changing configuration per environment based off a system environment variable. All these deployable application share common configuration for database and messaging. This is currently achieved by picking up property files from the class path and having both deployed apps share a common jar for each connection (db, jms) containing property files.
I am looking to start using Spring Config Server to externalize this configuration if possible. I have a question about how to share this common config.
Currently it looks something like this:-
Web1
- database
- jms
Messaging1
- database
- jms
In this situation both deployed apps share the same connections and these connections change per environment (lab, prf, prd, etc). How can I achieve the same with the Spring Configuration Server where I have app config for each deployable app?
Application.yml
Web1.yml
Web1-dev.yml
Messaging1.yml
Messaging1-dev.yml
If a connection property changed for an environment I would need to make the change to each deployable app configuration rather than making it just once.
Is there currently anyway to achieve this? Am I just missing a simple point?

With file-based (i.e. git, svn and native) repositories, resources
with file names in application* are shared between all client
applications (so application.properties, application.yml,
application-*.properties etc.). You can use resources with these file
names to configure global defaults and have them overridden by
application-specific files as necessary.
You should create application.properties or application.yml at the top level of configuration repository (if it is git or svn based). Don't forget to commit the changes.
This is how I have configured for my setup.
1 All Common properties across all services and environments will be in root->application.properties files
2 All Common properties across all environments specific to service will be root->service-X.properties files
3: Similarly, to have common properties across specific environment use env->application.properties file

It worked liked described. I only noticed, that you need to put the files in a /config folder to make it work. If you put it in the root the file ist used by the configserver itself and is not included in the config requests.
application.properties/application.yml will be shared across all applications.
application-DEV.properties/application-DEV.yml will be shared across all DEV environment applications. You can replace DEV with any spring profile.
{applicationName}.properties/{applicationName}.yml will be shared across the give application.
